Purpose of the UMD Statistics Consortium
The goals of the Statistics Consortium are to enhance the
interdisciplinary visibility of Statistics on the University of
Maryland College Park campus and to facilitate cooperation and
access to campus resources for researchers and students in
Statistical Methodology and Applied Statistics.
Current initiatives of the Statistics Consortium:
- Seminars and Distinguished Lectures: talks of general interest
to campus statisticians. Please email to statcons@math.umd.edu with ideas for
future events.
- Development of a list of Graduate Internship and Practicum Opportunities in Statistics with area
agencies and companies in cooperation with the Career
Center and campus academic units. Students: this list has recently
been expanded and updated. Have a look !
- The Directory of Stat Consortium Faculty and their Research
Interests is being actively updated and expanded in Fall 2009. If
you are a campus faculty researcher using Statistics in your work,
please email statcons@math.umd.edu to be included inthe
Directory !
